The State Theatre of Braunschweig has a history stretching back over 300 years. It focuses on four main areas covering music theatre, drama and ballet. It also manages the State Orchestra as well as children's and young people's theatre.
On average 25 new productions are in the State Theatre's programme each season, adding up to between 450 and 500 performances. These take place on the stages of the main theatre (Großes Haus), the smaller theatre (Kleines Haus), the concert hall “Stadthalle” and the House III (Haus III).
