The tour begins at the Burgplatz, the former centre of Guelph rule under Henry the Lion. Here you will find the Braunschweig landmark, the lion, the Dankwarderode castle and the St. Blasii cathedral. The route leads you on into the Magniviertel, one of the oldest and most beautiful quarters of Braunschweig, with an ensemble of historic half-timbered buildings and the church of St. Magni.
