Augmented Reality

With the augmented-reality function, you can explore Braunschweig in a new way. The camera image on your own smartphone or tablet shows not only what is currently visible, but also supplementary information in the form of images, texts or related links. At selected locations in the city, the image shown by the smartphone camera additionally displays relevant information regarding the surroundings, points out concealed details, and offers photos of details that would otherwise remain hidden.

The scenario “Then/Now”

The augmented-reality scenario “Then/Now” offers the possibility of discovering how more than 40 locations in the Lion City looked in the past. At these locations, the image of the respective attraction, building or square in the smartphone camera can be overlaid with a historical photograph and thereby directly compared. In addition, lots of fascinating information is available concerning the spot where the user is standing. A city map makes it easier to locate these positions.
